RIVERDALE, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team traveled to Mount St. Vincent for a Skyline Conference tilt on Wednesday afternoon. The Privateers (3-7-0, 0-7-0 Skyline) were unable to snap their losing streak, however, as the Dolphins (5-4-1, 4-2-0 Skyline) recorded a 9-0 victory at Marillac Field.
Mount St. Vincent's Cristina Britton scored in the fifth minute and added another tally in the 23
rd minute. Emily McCarthy then found the back of the net twice to give the Dolphins a 4-0 halftime advantage.
McCarthy completed the hat trick early in the second half before notching her fourth goal of the game in the 54
th minute. The Dolphins would also get goals from Riley Leedholm, Alicia Rodriguez and Lilli Marin in the second half.
Lizzie Pomaro (3-7-0) made four saves for the Privateers. Mount St. Vincent goalkeeper Kora-Lynn McCullough (4-2-1) was credited with one save before giving way to Brooke Frierson, who played the last 24 minutes of the shutout.
This was the Privateers' final road game of the season. Maritime plays the first of four straight home contests on Sunday, when St. Joseph's Brooklyn (5-5-1, 2-3-0 Skyline) visits Reinhart Field for a 12 p.m. matchup.
