Privateers Weekly Preview: Nov. 12 and 13

Maritime College Athletics will be hosting two events this week as the swimming and diving teams play host to SUNY Old Westbury on Monday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m., while the men's basketball team will hope to pick up it's second straight home win when they take on Hunter College Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.

18340The men's swimming and diving team is coming off a big season-opening win against William Paterson. The Privateers defeated the Pioneers by a score of 124-90 and will look to keep that momentum rolling as they open up Skyline Conference play. The Panthers also took on William Paterson this season and fell by a score of 84-64 and enter the matchup with an 0-2 overall record.

The women's swimming and diving team was unable to take out the Pioneers in the season opener as they fell by a score of 137-88. The Privateers will look to pick up their first win of the season when they face off against Old Westbury, who fell to William Paterson by a score of 53-9.

18341The men's basketball team suffered a tough season-opening loss to Manhattanville College, but were able to bounce back less than 48 hours later at home against CCNY. Brendan McGovern (Seaford, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) led the Privateers with 31 points in the 91-84 win over the Beavers. Maritime will hope to make it two straight home wins as they take on Hunter College in their season opener.
