Women’s Soccer Succumbs to Mount St. Vincent on Saturday Afternoon

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Maritime women's soccer team fell on the road to the Mount St. Vincent Dolphins on Saturday afternoon by the score of 4-0 on the Athletic Field at Marillac.
 
Junior Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) had nine saves on the match, while playing the entirety of the game in goal for the Privateers.
 
Maritime had two shots on the afternoon with freshman Lexie Gula (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) recording the team's lone shot on goal. Senior Julianna Avitto (Lindenhurst, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) had the team's second shot.
 
Mount St. Vincent had an overall balanced attack with two goals in each half. Avitto's shot came in the 63rd minute and went high, while Gula's on-target shot was saved in the 70th minute of play.
 
Maritime (4-5-1, 1-3-0 Skyline) resumes league play on Wednesday afternoon, when the team travels to Farmingdale for another Skyline matchup with the Rams, game time is slated for 4 p.m.
 
Mount St. Vincent (3-7-0, 2-2-0 Skyline) heads on the road this Wednesday to take on Purchase for a 7 p.m. start against the Panthers.
