THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime women's soccer team completed their 2017 home schedule on Saturday afternoon, losing 8-0 to the Mount St. Mary Knights on 'Senior Day' on Reinhart Field.
Prior to the match the Privateers honored the five members of the senior class on the field with seniors
Jessica Yee (Freehold, N.J./Freehold),
Olivia Mihaljevich (Leona Valley, Calif./Quartz Hill),
Roseleen Frawley (Bronx, N.Y./Preston),
Julianna Avitto (Lindenhurst, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) and team manager
Georgianna Bode (West Islip, N.Y./Florida Virtual (Fla.)).
On the match, Privateers junior goalkeeper
Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) recorded seven saves including a penalty kick save in the seventh minute of play. Sophomore
Kayla Kelly (South Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) took over the goalkeeping duties at the start of the second half and made five saves in the net.
Maritime (4-8-2, 1-6-1 Skyline) will be back in action on Wednesday, October 25th when the team visits St. Joseph's (L.I.) at Danzi Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.
Mount St. Mary (13-3-1, 7-0-0 Skyline) will play Wednesday, October 25th when they host Farmingdale beginning at 5 p.m.
