THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – This Saturday, Maritime Football will play host to the Husson Eagles in their opening game of the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference schedule at 1 p.m. on Reinhart Field. The game will be the focal point of Homecoming Weekend on the Maritime College campus, with a multitude of events going on throughout the weekend.

Series History: Maritime has two victories in their all-time series with the Eagles. The last win for the Privateers against Husson came in 2011 with a 34-13 win in Bangor, Maine.

Maritime Last Game Recap: Maritime enters their third straight home game having won their last home game against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Mariners on September 16 by the score of 20-16. The Privateers dominated the game through the air with 173 passing yards to Merchant Marine's 17 yards. The Privateers were also 4-for-4 in the red zone with two touchdowns and two field goals.

Husson Last Game Recap: The Eagles enter off non-conference play with a 2-1 overall record and were the only team in the league to play last weekend. Husson hosted future-ECFC member Alfred State in Bangor, and shut out the Pioneers by a 35-0 score. The Eagles amassed 497 yards of total offense and defensively sacked the opposing quarterback on four occasions for a loss in 26 yards.

Homecoming: Maritime has won its last two Homecoming matchups, defeating the Anna Maria AMCATs in 2015 by a 44-7 score. During the 2014 season, Maritime knocked off Becker 13-6. The last time the Privateers and Eagles met for Homecoming on Reinhart Field, Maritime defeated Husson by a 47-21 score in late September of 2010.

Bill Hall '66. Mr Hall graduated with degree in engineering at Maritime College. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is the president and owner of Haltek, Inc., an engineering consulting company based in Bethel, Connecticut.

Locker Room Grand Opening: Following this past summer's Alumni Locker Room Campaign, the Maritime Football team and the Maritime Men's Lacrosse teams will be officially unveiling their new locker room earlier in the morning as part of Homecoming festivities. There will be a brief ceremony at 10 a.m. in the upstairs lobby of Riesenberg Hall for the official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
