THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime Women's Soccer team hosted the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers on Saturday afternoon, and fell by the score of 6-1 on Reinhart Field.

Paige Frankel (Hackensack, N.J./Immaculate Conception) scored the first goal of her career as she headed in a corner kick that was taken by classmate
Julianna Avitto (Lindenhurst, N.Y./St. John the Baptist).

In goal, sophomore
Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) had a 19-save performance as she recorded her season-high through the first five matches of the season.

Mass. Maritime got on the board quickly, scoring just 1:43 into the contest. The Buccaneers scored the next three goals and had a 4-0 advantage at the 39:55 mark of the opening half.

In the closing minutes of the stanza, the Privateers were award a corner kick and took advantage as Frankel headed the ball towards the right post and scored off of a corner kick taken by Avitto.

Mass. Maritime scored twice more in the second half as the Buccaneers emerged victorious.

Maritime (2-3) will open up Skyline Conference play this Tuesday on Randall's Island – Field 54, where the Privateers will meet the Yeshiva Maccabees for a 5 p.m. start.

Mass. Maritime (3-1) will travel to take on Wheelock on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in its next contest.
