THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime women's soccer finished up the home portion of its 2016 season on Saturday afternoon. The Privateers fell to the Purchase Panthers by the score of 5-0 on Reinhart Field.

At halftime of the contest, the team recognized the one member of its senior class;
Staci Evans (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) , with a brief on-field ceremony.

Maritime registered four shots, with all four coming in the first half. Junior
Jessica Yee (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) had two shots with one on goal, while freshman
Leigh Kouril (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) also took a pair of shots with one on target.

In goal for the Privateers, sophomore
Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) added another 11 saves to add to her single-season program record. Thus far on the year, Havens now has 222 saves in 1,600 minutes on the field.

 Purchase had four goals in the opening stanza, and capped off its scoring in the 58th minute of play to make the score 5-0. The lead held throughout the match as the Panthers picked up a league victory to help their push for a playoff position.

On the game, Purchase had six corner kicks while Maritime had four. The Panthers were also called offsides on five occasions.

Maritime (4-14-0, 1-7-0 Skyline) will finish off the 2016 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, when the team plays on the road at Old Westbury for a 3:00 p.m. start against the Panthers.

Purchase (4-8-2, 3-3-1 Skyline) will cap off its regular season on Tuesday, when the team travels to take on the Mount St. Mary Knights for a 7 p.m. start from Kaplan Field.
