Season Closes for Women’s Soccer in Conference Matchup vs. Old Westbury

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Maritime women's soccer team's season came to a close on Tuesday, as the Privateers fell at Panther Park to the Old Westbury Panthers by a 6-0 score.
 
In goal, sophomore Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) made 17 saves as she finishes her season with 239 saves, already a Maritime women's soccer single-season record. Earlier this season, she also broke the career record for goals and now has 408 for her career in just two seasons.
 
Junior Jessica Yee (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) led Maritime with four shots on the match, while classmate Gayle Woods (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) took two shots to give her 50 for the season.
 
Old Westbury scored three times in each half for the 6-0 victory, while the Panthers outshot the Privateers by a 35-6 margin. Old Westbury also took 18 corner kicks, and were called offsides on six occasions. The Privateers were whistled offsides three times.
 
Maritime finishes the season with a 4-15 overall record and a 1-8 mark in conference play, the team will return a large contingent of its current roster and will look to add depth and additional skill for the 2017 season.
 
Old Westbury also wrapped up its season on Tuesday, and finished the year with a 6-9-1 overall mark and a 3-6 record in league matchups. The Panthers will also look ahead to the 2017 campaign.
