YONKERS, N.Y. – The Maritime Men's Soccer team opened its 2015 Skyline Conference schedule started with a victory over the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons on Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-0 at Tibbetts Brook Park.

Freshman
Billy Horgan (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) led the team with three points as he picked up a goal and an assist, while seniors
Sheick Wattara (Bronx, N.Y./Urban Assembly for Math & Science) and
Colton Gallt (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) also had goals on the afternoon. Freshman
Parker Gallt (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) picked up an assist in the victory as well.
Senior goalkeeperÂ
Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y./Northport) had a an easy time collecting his 11th career shutout, stopping one shot on goal over the course of the 90 minute contest.

Horgan got the Privateers started with a goal in the eighth minute of the contest to put the Privateers ahead by a 1-0 score.

Towards the end of the opening period, Horgan fed the ball to Wattara, who planted the ball in the back of the net to put the Privateers ahead 2-0 before the halftime break.

After the intermission, Maritime added one more goal as Colton took a pass from younger brother Parker in the 80th minute to cap off the Privateer scoring at three.
The Privateers as a team recorded 30 overall shots with 18 on target, senior
Renato Chira-Farfan (Miraflores, Peru/Mahopac (N.Y.)) led the way with six shots on the afternoon. Maritime also dominated in the corner kick category with six in each half for a total of 12 on the match.

Maritime (5-2-0, 1-0-0 Skyline) will get back to non-conference play this Wednesday when the team returns home to take on Vaughn with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. on Reinhart Field.

Sarah Lawrence (1-3-1, 0-2-1 Skyline) will take to the road for its next two matches, beginning with the Culinary Institute tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. in Hyde Park, N.Y.
