Women's Soccer Drops Skyline Conference Match to St. Joseph's (LI)

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime Women's Soccer team dropped a Skyline Conference match 5-0 at St. Joseph's (LI) in Patchogue, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon.

In goal, freshman Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) had nine saves over the full 90 minutes.

The Maritime attack was led by freshman Krista Deleva (Sound Beach, N.Y./Miller Place) who had one shot on goal and two total shots. Deleva had the best chance of the game for the Privateers when one of her shots hit the crossbar in the 72nd minute. Junior Kathleen Burns (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and freshman Courtney Salatto (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) added one shot each in the contest.

The Golden Eagles scored all five of their goals in the first half. Shannon Kennedy scored two goals on the day.

The Privateers (4-6-0 overall, 1-2-0 in Skyline Conference) totaled four shots and one on goal. St. Joseph's (LI) (4-5-1, 3-2-0) registered 24 total shots and 14 shots on goal.

Maritime's next match is Monday, October 5 at Sarah Lawrence at 7:30 p.m. in Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, N.Y.
