PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Maritime Women's Soccer team fell to Purchase 9-1 in a Tuesday night Skyline Conference match on the Panther Turf Field.
Freshman goalkeeper
Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) and sophomore
Paige Frankel (Hackensack, N.J./Immaculate Conception) combined for 20 saves, each playing a half of the match. Frankel set a career high with 12 saves in the loss.
The lone goal for the Privateers came from freshman
Courtney Salatto (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip). She scored on an unassisted breakaway in the 24th minute to cut the lead to 3-1. This was her third goal on the year and she is now third on the team in points with 14.
Junior
Kathleen Burns (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and sophomore
Jessica Yee (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) both tallied one shot on goal in the match. Sophomore
Gayle Woods (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) also added a shot.
Purchase (4-9-0, 4-2-0 Skyline) led the match with six corners, compared to Maritime's four.
The Privateers (5-8-0, 2-4-0 Skyline) will look to get back on the winning track this Thursday in a home conference match against Yeshiva on Reinhart Field at 8 p.m.
