Men's Lacrosse Preview: Maritime Wraps Up Season with Senior Day vs. Mount St. Vincent

The Maritime men's lacrosse team wraps up its 2014 campaign with a Skyline Conference matchup against the Mount St. Vincent Dolphins on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. on Reinhart Field.

Prior to the contest, the Privateers will be honoring its seven departing seniors in an on-field ceremony to celebrate the graduating class who will be playing their final game on Reinhart Field. Those to be honored include Anthony Ambrosio (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park)James D'Amico (Floral Park, N.Y./St. Francis Prep.), Mike Hayden (Wallkill, N.Y./Wallkill), Dylan Larmony (Old Bethpage, N.Y./Plainview JFK), Chris Morsch (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip), James Quinn (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), and Andrew Scalesi (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield).
 
LAST GAME RECAP
The Privateers fell to nationally ranked Montclair State on Sprague Field in New Jersey a week ago by the score of 20-2. Scalesi and sophomore Matt Hayes (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) collected the two goals for Maritime in the defeat.
 
In addition to his goal, Hayes led the team with 14 ground balls and was 19-for-23 on faceoff attempts. Classmate Jonathan Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) led the defense with two caused turnovers, while fellow sophomore Mike Arnold (Plainedge, N.Y./Plainedge) made four saves in the first 30 minutes of play.
 
Freshman Kieran Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) played the bulk of the second half and registered six saves in 27:49 of time on the field. Classmate Alex Haim (Youngstown, N.Y./Lewiston Porter) finished off the contest without facing a shot.
 
SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
Mount St. Vincent concludes its Skyline Conference slate this evening against Maritime. On the year, Mount St. Vincent is 5-7 overall with an 0-5 mark in league games.
 

The Dolphins been outscored 121-99 in 12 games this season. Leading the way in goals, assists and points is John Petito with 19 tallies and 12 helpers. Pat McEnaney is second on the team with 17 goals and eight assists, while Germaine Ngaba and Mike Pucalski have 12 and 13 goals respectively.
 
In goal, senior Kyle Kalibat has accumulated just shy of 600 minutes in goal and allowed 97 goals and stopped 155 shot sent his way on 420 shots faced. On the season Kalibat has a 9.73 goals against average and a 61.5% save percent.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Maritime is 8-1 in head-to-head matchups with Mount St. Vincent, however the one loss came in April of 2013 by a 9-8 score. In the loss, Nick Schneider led the team with three goals, while Mike Johnson and Matthew Messina added two apiece. Nick Barbuto made 10 saves in the defeat.

UP NEXT
Wednesday evening is Maritime's final game of the 2014 season, the team will look to reload and prepare for the 2015 season, slated to begin in late February next year.
 
Mount St. Vincent will wrap up its season with non-conference matchups against Bard and Bryn Athyn to end its 2014 slate of games.
