THROGGS NECK, N.Y (September 28, 2013) - After getting back on the winning track with a victory over Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday evening, the Maritime women's soccer team looks to continue its winning ways against the Blue Jays of NYU-Poly on Saturday, and Canton on Sunday afternoon.

The Privateers begin the weekend against NYU-Poly as both teams enter with 0-1 Skyline Conference records. Maritime is 4-1 all-time against NYU-Poly in the history of the programs, the Privateers started off with four straight wins before losing last season in overtime by a 3-2 score. In last season's loss, Melanie Lopez (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders Trades & Technical) scored both goals for Maritime in the losing effort.

Maritime is 0-2 against Canton during their all-time head-to-head matchups, but the Privateers will put their perfect home record on the line when they welcome the Kangaroos to Reinhart Field for the second straight season.

After this weekend's game Maritime plays its next two games at home during the week against Skyline Conference foes Purchase on Wednesday, and Old Westbury on Saturday. Both home matches will begin at 7 p.m.
NYU-Poly will next play against Mount St. Mary in Newburgh at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Canton will next play Division II Daemen on October 1 at 7:30 p.m.
