Free Boys & Girls Youth Clinic Registration Form – Starts At 10 a.m. @ Reinhart Field
 
        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 5, 2013) – The Maritime men's lacrosse team (4-8, 0-2 Skyline) will return to the friendly confines of Reinhart Field for the first time in two weeks on Saturday afternoon, when the squad will play host to Skyline Conference opponent Kean University (9-1, 1-0 Skyline). First faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
Privateers To Hold Free Boys And Girls Youth Lacrosse Clinic Saturday Morning
        Prior to the women's (1 p.m. start) and men's (4 p.m. start) lacrosse doubleheader on Saturday, both teams will be hosting a free boys and girls youth clinic at Reinhart Field. The clinic will start at 10 a.m. and will feature instructional sessions with the coaching staff and players from both the men's and women's teams.
 
        The team is still accepting applications for children and will also be allowing walk-ups for the clinic tomorrow morning. If you are interested in signing a child up for the clinic, please follow this link. Privateer MLAX Alum Lt. TJ Beaudette, USMC, To Lead Team Onto The Field Saturday
        Maritime men's lacrosse alum from the Class of 2011 and current Lieutenant in the United States Marines, TJ Beaudette, will lead the squad onto the field with the Privateers' Camp Victory Flag Saturday afternoon.
 
        Beaudette was a four-year starter for the men's lacrosse team and was also a member of the Naval ROTC program with the Marine option at Maritime. Upon graduation, he became an officer in the U.S. Marines and is now the Weapons Platoon Commander of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, Charlie Company. A native of Floral Park, N.Y., Beaudette will be deploying to Afghanistan in October.
 
Inside The Series With Kean
        Dating back to the 2005 season, these two teams have met nine times, including once in the Skyline Tournament in 2008. The Cougars hold a 5-4 advantage in that time. The series has been so close that each regular season game since 2005 has been decided by as little as three goals, including three games that were decided by just one goal.
 
Last Time These Two Teams Met
        Kean hosted Maritime in Union, N.J., on March 31, 2012, and came out with a narrow 7-5 victory. Senior John Driscoll (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) led the Privateer offense with three points (1G, 2A), while then-junior Matthew Messina (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) chipped in with two goals. Then-sophomores Ed Fargo (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and Andrew Scalesi (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) also found the back of the net for Maritime in the loss.
 
        Then-junior Nick Barbuto (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) was strong in net, making 11 saves over the four periods, while also picking up three groundballs. Senior Steven Tonn (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) matched the game-high with seven groundballs.
 
        For the Cougars, Nick Angrisani led all players with four goals, while John Marcelli and Tom Clifford both had a goal and an assist apiece.

Scouting The Kean Cougars
        Kean enters Saturday's matchup with an impressive 9-1 record, including a 1-0 mark in Skyline action under 10th-year head coach Shelley Sheiner. The Cougars leading scorer is junior Richard Cheifitz, who recorded 46 points on 30 goals and 16 assists. He is 12 points ahead of the next highest Kean scorer, senior Sean Bobal (29G+5A=34P).
 
        The leading groundballman is sophomore face-off man Mike Criscitello, who has picked up 40 GBs and is 51-for-96 from the X. In goal, senior Lane Zierten has gotten five starts and boasts a 7-1 record with a 7.94 goals against average, a .561 save percentage and 7.11 saves per game.
