THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 8, 2013) – The Maritime men's lacrosse team (1-4) will look to bounce back after a loss to FDU-Florham on Wednesday when the squad will play host to Becker College (1-2) on Saturday afternoon at Reinhart Field. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m.

For the first time this spring, Maritime will provide concessions for the men's lacrosse game on Saturday. The vendor, Julio Colon, will be stationed next to the stands at Reinhart Field and will have a snack stand along with hot dogs and soft beverages.
Inside The Series With Becker
Saturday's meeting will be the first between Maritime and Becker in men's lacrosse, though the Hawks are conference rivals with the Privateer football team.
Scouting The Becker Hawks
Becker enters Saturday's game with a 1-2 record under third-year head coach Shawn Degnan. The Hawks are on a two-game losing streak with losses at home to Wentworth (11-5 on March 4) and on the road at Mitchell (11-10 on March 2). They opened the 2013 season with a 12-7 road win at Regis on Feb. 23.
Senior Jeff Petersen is the team's leading scorer with 14 points on eight goals and six assists, while sophomore David Deschenes is close behind with 11 points (8G, 3A). Deschenes is the team's leader with 26 groundballs and is also 30-for-55 from the faceoff-X.
In goal, senior Michael Munoz has started all three games thus far and has made 15.0 saves per game with a 61.6 save percentage and a 9.35 goals against average.
