THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 19, 2013) – The Maritime men's lacrosse team (3-5) will be hitting the road for the first time in over two weeks when the team will travel to Middletown, Conn. on Wednesday to take on non-conference opponent Wesleyan University (3-1). The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the Cardinals' Smith Field.
Barbuto And Kelly Named To Skyline Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll
On Monday, Skyline Conference assistant commissioner
Steve Haug announced the weekly awards for men's lacrosse and Maritime senior
Nick Barbuto (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y.) and freshman
Tom Kelly (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) were named to the weekly honor roll for their performances in the Privateers' 1-1 week.
Barbuto averaged 13 saves per game over the two contests and picked up the victory over Mass. Maritime on Saturday after making 14 stops, including seven when he held the Bucs scoreless in the third quarter. He is currently the Skyline leader in saves per game with 14.12.
Kelly is named to the honor roll for the third-straight week now as he continues to have a sensational rookie campaign. He recorded four goals and one assist, including a hat-trick against Mass. Maritime on Saturday. It was his team-leading third hat-trick of the season. He ranks ninth in the Skyline Conference with 1.88 goals per game.

For the Cards, seniors Teddy Citrin, Max Landow and John Froats each recorded four points – Citrin with four goals and Landow and Froats with two goals and two assists apiece. In net, senior Grant Covington got the win after playing 35 minutes and making seven saves. Three other goalies got in to play for the Cardinals.
Scouting The Wesleyan Cardinals
The Cardinals enter Wednesday night's contest with a 3-1 record under 17th-year head coach John Raba. They started the season with three straight home victories over Williams (7-6 on 3/9), Hamilton (12-6 on 3/10) and Lasell (18-1 on 3/13) before dropping their last contest at Bates, 7-5 this past Saturday.
Sophomore David Murphy is the team's leading scorer with eight points (4G, 4A), while juniors Remy Lieberman (6G, 1A) and Graham Macnab (6G, 1A) and sophomore Matt Prezioso (4G, 3A) all have seven points, apiece. Junior Sam Stanton is the Cardinals' leading groundballman with 13 while four other players have 10 GBs each. In goal, junior Mark Simmons has a 3-1 record with a 5.54 goals against average and a .568 saves percentage in over 205 minutes.
