        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 13, 2013) – The Maritime men's lacrosse team (2-4) will look to build off of a win over Becker in its last game on Saturday when the squad will play host to fellow industry-rival school the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point (1-2). First faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Reinhart Field.

        Maritime will be providing concessions for the men's lacrosse game tonight. The vendor, Julio Colon, will be stationed next to the stands at Reinhart Field and will have a snack stand along with hot dogs and soft beverages.
 
Inside The Series With Kings Point
        In the past five meetings between the two teams going back to the 2008 season, Kings Point owns a 4-1 series advantage over Maritime. The last time the Privateers defeated their arch-rival was during the 2008 season, when they won on the road, 18-10.
 
Last Time The Two Teams Met
        The two teams last met on March 16, 2012 at Kings Point and the Mariners came out on top 13-7. For Maritime, then-junior Matthew Messina (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) recorded a hat trick and one assist, while classmate Kevin Winter (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) scored two goals and added an assist. Nick Barbuto (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) made 11 saves in the losing effort.
 
Scouting The Kings Point Mariners
        Kings Point enters Wednesday's game with a 1-2 record under 23rd-year head coach Tom Gill. The leading scorer has been sophomore Geoff Harty with nine points on seven goals and two assists. Senior Michael Ackerman is close behind with seven points (3G, 4A) and junior Phil Walker has six points (3G, 3A). Freshman Chris Whitenack leads the team with 21 groundballs and is also 33-for-56 on faceoffs. In goal, sophomore Alex Peyreigne has started all three games and has a 9.19 goals against average and has made 15 saves per game.
