(March 9, 2012) – The Maritime men's lacrosse team will be making up its previously postponed game against WestConn this evening when the squad travels up to Danbury, Conn. to take on the Western Connecticut Colonials. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at WestConn's Westside Athletic Complex.

Inside The Series With WestConn
        Maritime has squared off against Western Connecticut once each season since the 2007 campaign and hold a slight lead in the series over the Colonials, 3-2. It was WestConn who was victorious in last year's meeting, however, coming down to Reinhart Field and winning by the score of 11-4. Senior Michael Hanratty (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) tallied two goals for the Privateers, while classmates Andrew Marklin (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) and Ryan Korb (Islip, N.Y./Islip) cashed in with the other two. Senior Seth Collins (Owego, N.Y./Owego Free Academy) and then-junior Dylan Walsh (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) each had an assist apiece, while senior Keith Messina (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) made 21 saves in defeat.
