THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 21, 2010) – Maritime senior Stephen Doherty (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland) (Yorktown, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference men's lacrosse weekly honor roll for his efforts in the Privateers' 2-0 week last week with victories over conference opponents Richard Stockton on the road and Mount Saint Vincent at home. This is the third time this season that Doherty earned a spot on the weekly honor roll, as he also got the accolade on March 1 and March 22.

The 6-0, 195-pounder recorded a Privateer-high eight points over two games. The senior scored two goals, added two assists and picked up two ground balls in the exciting 12-11 victory over the Ospreys on Wednesday. He followed that game up with a four-goal performance in the victory over the Dolphins on Saturday.

Doherty currently ranks sixth in the Skyline with 1.55 assists per game, while his 3.09 points per game is good for ninth among all conference players. Also ranking in the league's top statistical categories are juniors Jesse de'Boer (Ridge, N.J.) and senior goalie Colin Gallagher (Minneapolis, Minn./Westhill) (Minneapolis, Minn.). With 2 game-winning goals, de'Boer sits tied for fifth in the conference, while Gallagher's 12.0 saves per game ranks fourth among Skyline goalies and his .527 save percentage is fifth. As a team, Maritime ranks fifth in the conference with 31.75 ground balls per game.
