Gallagher Named To Skyline Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 8, 2010) – Maritime senior goaltender Colin Gallagher (Minneapolis, Minn./Westhill) was named to the Skyline Conference men's lacrosse weekly honor roll on Monday after his efforts in the Privateers' 1-1 week. Maritime picked up an 11-10 victory over Western Conn. State on Wednesday, before falling to Oswego State, 6-4, on Sunday. The Privateers moved their record to 1-2 on the season.

 

Gallagher earned the win in his first action of the season against Western Conn. State when he made 17 saves in the contest. He also had three ground balls in the victory. He ended the week with seven saves in a losing effort against Oswego.

 

The Minneapolis, Minn., native ranks fourth in the conference with an 8.00 goals against average and a .600 save percentage. His 12.0 saves per game is good for fifth in the Skyline. Senior Stephen Doherty (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland) also ranks in the conference's top-10, as his 1.67 assists per game is tenth in the league.

 

            As a team, Maritime ranks fourth in the conference in ground balls with 33.33 per game.

            The Privateers return to the field Wednesday, March 10, when they travel to take on No. 11 Wesleyan at 7 p.m. in Middletown, Conn.
