THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 2, 2010) – Maritime senior Steven Doherty was named to the Skyline Conference men's lacrosse weekly honor roll for his efforts in the Privateers' season-opening loss at Lycoming on Saturday, as announced by the conference on Monday.

 

Doherty had a hand in half of Maritime's goals against the Warriors. He scored the first goal of the 2010 season late in the opening quarter to bring the Privateers to within 3-1 and then had an assist on junior Michael Hanratty (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial)'s third-quarter goal. Doherty also picked up a team-leading three ground balls in the loss.

The Privateers return to action on Wednesday, March 3, when they play host to non-conference rival Western Connecticut State. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
