THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Feb. 3, 2010) – Maritime freshman Joseph Tucker (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun ) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday after his performance in the Privateers' 110-91 victory over Division-I opponent NJIT last week. The Skyline Conference also announced that junior-captain Brian Day (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) was named to the men's swimming weekly honor roll. Day was a part of three victories for the Privateers in the win over NJIT. He swam as part of the 200 medley relay team that won in 1:49.19 to begin the meet, before claiming an individual victory in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:15.74. He helped close the night with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay with juniors Joseph Bosch (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and John Whiting-Stulz (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) and sophomore Jonathan DaSilva (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville). The squad touched the wall first in 1:37.16 to claim 11 points towards the meet-win.
