Two goals was the largest lead that any team had all game, and the Privateers held that advantage on 4 separate occasions. Both teams played an even 2-2 first quarter, with Lawrence Montreuil scoring both of Maritime's goals, both of which were assisted by Rob Lenseth (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown). The Privateers outscored Farmingdale 6-4 in the second quarter, to take a two goal lead into the half. Michael Hanratty (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) gave Maritime a brief single goal advantage, but the Rams scored the next three to take an 11-9 lead late in the third. Alex Korb was able to net two more before time expired, pulling Maritime back to even (11-11) with Farmingdale heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

The Rams opened the quarter with the first two scores again, taking a 13-11 lead that would prove to be enough to get the win. Alex Korb scored his 5th goal of the game on a man-up opportunity with 5:36 to play, but the Privateers were unable to score again. Farmingdale added one more with 2:43 to play, and got the first win over the Privateers since 2006.
