Kenneth Kelly (Belle Harbor, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) (Belle Harbor, NY/Archbishop Molloy) had a team high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, but in the end, the Privateers would not be able to snap their current losing streak, falling to the Saints of Marymount University, 74-52 in men’s basketball action Wednesday evening in Throggs Neck, NY.
Sophomore guard
Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) (Jamaica, NY/Martin Van Buren) had another productive game for the Privateers, scoring 10 points, while junior guard
Lamar Fields (Bronx, NY/Rice) finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 boards.
Marymount was led by sophomore forward Mike Gray (Alexandra, VA/St. Stevens-St.Agnes) who had a game high 20 points and a team high six rebounds. The Saints also got a big push from junior forward Fred Stanbeck (Springdale, MD/Bishop O’Connell) who finished the day with 13 points and five rebounds. Eleven of the 14 players that participated score at least a basket to help earn the Saints their fourth victory of the season.
The Privateers return to action next Wednesday, when they host the Skyline rival Farmingdale State for their first of two meeting this season. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
