Ann Denning begins her eighth season at the helm of the Maritime women's lacrosse program, after being named to the position in February of 2012.

In addition to her role as the head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Maritime, she also serves as the advisor for the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

The 2018 season saw Maritime increase their win total to three as the Privateers recorded wins over Dallas, Mitchell and Mount St. Vincent. During the season junior Krista Deleva '19, set the program record for assists and points, while also setting the single-season record for goals, assists, and points. Following the year Deleva along with classmate Courtney Salatto '19, and freshman Sara Wright '21, all earned All-Conference recognition from the Skyline Conference.

In 2017 the young Maritime squad recorded just one victory in conference play against Mount St. Vincent. At the conclusion of the season Salatto earned her second straight Skyline All-Conference selection.

This past season, Denning led the team to its second-straight Maritime Cup Championship with victories over Mass. Maritime and Maine Maritime. The team also finished the season with a pair of conference victories and at the conclusion of the season, Deleva and Salatto were both chosen as Skyline All-Conference Selections.

During the 2015 season, Denning guided the Privateers to wins over Maine Maritime and Mass. Maritime en route to the first-ever Maritime Cup in mid-March. Later in the season she oversaw the team pick up its third consecutive "Sound Shootout" victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Following the season, Maritime had two Skyline All-Conference selections.

In 2014, Denning coached the team to it's best win total in program history with five victories, including it's first-ever winning streak with three straight wins to end the season. Under Denning's tutelage, freshman Jane Quinn was selected as the program's first-ever All-Conference First Team selection, while also picking up the team's first-ever individual award as the Skyline Conference's Rookie of the Year.

In addition to Quinn's first team selection in 2014, Denning has also helped guide Leanne Lavelle to back-to-back All-Conference Second Team selections in 2013-14. Kristen Saporito was Denning's first All-Conference selection with an appearance on the league's Second Team in 2012.

Denning came to Maritime after spending the past three years on the staff of the Copiague High School varsity girl’s lacrosse program in Suffolk County, Long Island. She began as an assistant coach for the Eagles during the 2009 season, quickly implementing a man-zone defense for the young program and working closely with the goaltenders, which was her primary position as a player. Denning took over as the head coach at Copiague in 2010. She has also served as the head coach of the Crossefire Girl’s Lacrosse Travel Team out of Smithtown, N.Y.

As a player, Denning was a two-sport athlete at C.W. Post, playing both lacrosse and field hockey. She was a part of the Pioneers’ 2007 D-II Women’s Lacrosse National Championship Team. Denning played two years for the Pioneers’ women’s lacrosse team, seeing action between the pipes in 10 games during the 2007 championship season and six more as a defender during the 2008 campaign, while being named to the All-Academic team both of those seasons.

Denning graduated from C.W. Post in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.
