Michael Day completed his first season with the Maritime coaching staff as defensive backs coach during the 2017 season.
In his first season on the defensive staff, Day helped the Privateers to the third best defense in the ECFC as the unit allowed 17.9 points per game and 281.8 yards per game. Following the conclusion of the team’s nine-win season, two defensive backs earned All-Conference honors.
Day came to Maritime from Sacred Heart University, where he was a member of their club football program. He graduated from Sacred Heart with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management in May of 2016.
His coaching experience previously came at ProCamps, where he served as a coach from July of 2015 through July of 2017 and assisted National Football League players with running their summer instructional youth football camps.
In addition to his coaching experience, Day has also had a keen eye for football talent and wrote scouting reports for a sports blog. He has also worked in the ticket office of the New York Mets, and currently holds a position as an accounts manager for a limousine company on Long Island.
Day currently resides on Long Island in the hamlet of Hicksville.
