Junior Katia Aaron of the Maritime women's swimming team played a big hand in Maritime's 15th place finish at the Metropolitan Conference Championships in New Jersey.

Aaron was a part of three women's program records over the weekend including a trio of individual records. On Friday she set the program mark in the 500 freestyle with a 5:40.76, before setting the program record in the 400 individual medley on Saturday with a time of 5:05.46. She capped off her three-day three-record weekend with a 200 butterfly time of 2:22.02 to earn a qualifying bid into the finals.

She later went on to take part in a foursome that set the 400 freestyle relay record with a time of 3:57.96. Aaron along with Emily Zink, Gabrielle Thompson and Samantha Brow took part in the record-setting time.
