Senior Brian McLaughlin of Maritime baseball was selected as the Skyline Conference Player of the Year.Â
McLaughlin capped off a record-breaking Maritime season with overall impressive numbers as he finished the regular season leading Maritime in batting average at .474, slugging percentage at .515. He also led the Privateers with 55 hits, 45 RBIs, 14 doubles, eight home runs over 34 games.
In addition to leading the team in all three categories, McLaughlin led the entire Skyline Conference in batting average, home runs, and RBIs to take the league's "Triple Crown", the senior slugger also led the league in doubles, total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage to earn both Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference Honors.
