On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that Maritime freshman Sheila Flaherty was named as the league's Rookie of the Week for the second week of the 2016 season.

As Maritime posted a 3-0 record on the week, Flaherty led the Privateers in kills as she amassed 36 in the three Privateer victories this week. In addition to her kill total, she also picked up four blocks, and had three digs and a pair of assists.
