Senior T'Vaughn Gibson of the Maritime men's basketball team became the third player in modern program history to reach 1,000 career points on Saturday afternoon at home against Purchase. Gibson's three-pointer was also clutch, in that it gave the Privateers their first lead of the game with 13:36 left in the first half.
On the season, Gibson has 246 points on 92 field goals in his 23 games played this season. He had a season-best 22 points against Vassar, a game in which he had a clutch three-point basket to tie the game late in the second half, his second of the month after doing so against Farmingdale in early January.
For his career, Gibson is also the all-time leader with 105 three-point baskets made and third overall in field goals with 277, he is also fifth in rebounds and third in steals in his 91 career games played.
