Megan Patterson

Megan PattersonĀ completed her second season with the Maritime men's and women's cross country team in 2013 and first season as the head coach of the Privateers.

Patterson previously held the role of assistant cross country coach during the 2012 season.

In 2012, she helped lead the Privateer men to a second-place finish at the Skyline Conference Championship Meet and mentored four runners to place on the All-Skyline Teams, including the individual champion in freshman Cameron Coneys, while one female runner also landed on an All-Skyline Team. The Maritime men claimed the team gold in one event in 2012, the York Invitational and finished in second place in three events. The women also won the York Invite and finished in second place in one event.

Patterson, herself, was a standout runner for Division-I Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.

Away from Maritime, Patterson works as a Sports Coach & Trainer for Kinetic Sports Club in Pelham, N.Y. There, she leads classes that teach fundamentals of sports and progress up to elite instruction, and also offers one-on-one training with kids and athletes to help them reach their full potential. Patterson has utilized the latest sports science techniques and methods, conducted classes and camps which incorporate purposeful movements, and educated and helped clients of all ages and backgrounds to achieve their fullest potential.

Prior to Kinetic Sports Club, Patterson worked as an Assistant Track & Field Coach at the School of the Holy Child in Rye, N.Y. where she was responsible for training primarily the mid-distance and sprints team and coordinating community outreaches for girls to teach youth track teams. She has also workedĀ with Velocity Sports in Elmsford, N.Y. Her duties there include implementing comprehensive athletic performance programs, developing clients' proficiency of training techniques and injury prevention, and assessing strengths and weaknesses of individuals while identifying solutions.

She also has experience working in a college athletic department, as she served as a recreation/athletics assistant at Iona College for the 2011-12 season. An accomplished runner, Patterson is a three-time consecutive Northeast Conference Champion in the 800-meter race, four-time Cross Country and Track & Field Team MVP, and was named the FDU Female Student Athlete of the Year in 2010-11.
