Tom White

Tom White enters his eighth season as head coach of the Maritime Rifle team in 2018-19.

During his most recent season at the helm of the rifle program, the Air Gun team ended the season with four victories while the Smallbore team notched five victories on the year with four of those coming in  conference action. At the end of the season the Smallbore team captured the Sharpshooter Division Championship with a 2033-1993 victory over Plattsburgh.

In 2016-17, White guided the Air Gun squad to five victories during the season with a victory in the Expert Division of the MAC Rifle Championships by a slim 2178-2176 margin. The smallbore team closed out the season strong with a win in the Sharpshooter Division over Yale at the MAC Championships by a 2031-1959 score in early March.

The fifth season under White's direction saw both the Smallbore and Air Gun teams both record seven victories. The Smallbore team began the year with a 5-0 record, while the Air Rifle team began the year with a 5-1 mark. Following the regular season the Air Gun team qualified for the expert division at the MAC Championships, where the team fell to the VMI Women's team.

His fourth season at the helm of the saw Maritime take home the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship in the Smallbore class within the Sharpshooter Division, with the Air Rifle team finishing as the runner up in the Expert Division. 

During the 2013-14 season, White led the rifle program to the MAC Championship in the Sharpshooter Division for the Smallbore event. This comes a year after the team picked up the MAC Championship in the Marksman Division in 2012-13. Also during the 2012-13 season, he had the team compete in the NCAA Qualifiers for the first time in a number of years.

White was named the MAC Coach of the Year after his first season at Maritime back in 2011-12. He also resurrected the .22 caliber air rifle program to Maritime after a 10-year hiatus. He was named the Vice President of the MAC Rifle Conferencer after the 2012-13 season.

White has been a competitive shooter for 40 years. He was an All-Westchester County four-year shooter at Ossining High School. He was recruited to compete for the St. John's University rifle team in Queens, N.Y., and received full four-year scholarship.

While at St. John's, the Redmen reached the-Top 10 nationally and made three NCAA championship appearances. He was later named an Assistant Coach at St. John's, where he worked for 10 years.
