John Fimmano was named Head Coach of Maritime College men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs in August 2025. He also serves as the College’s Director of Aquatics.
Fimmano came to Maritime after one year as the Advanced Aquatics Team Leader at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. He previously spent three years on the staff at Arcadia University from 2021-24. Fimmano was the Knights’ Interim Head Coach in 2023-24, leading the men’s team to a 6-2 record and the women’s squad to a 6-3 mark that season. Both teams finished fourth at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships in 2023-24.
As Associate Head Coach in 2022-23, he helped the Arcadia men place second and the women fourth at the 2023 MAC Championships. In addition, Fimmano handled day-to-day pool operations while at Arcadia.
A 2021 graduate of the University of Scranton, he was a four-year member of the swimming & diving team and served as team captain during the 2020-21 season. Fimmano won the 2019 Landmark Conference title in the 200 yard butterfly and was named First or Second Team All-Landmark every year. He still holds multiple Scranton program records.
