Craig Lyon

After a three year stint in the pool with the Privateers, Craig Lyon is back for his fourth season as an assistant coach for Maritime in 2019-20.

During his second season as the assistant coach, Lyon helped guide the men's team to seven victories and a second place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships while helping lead the women to a six-win season and a fourth place finish at the Skyline Championships. Following the league championship meet, the Privateers finished 10th a the Metropolitan Championships in men's swimming and 15th in women's swimming.

In his first season with the program as a coach in 2016-17, Lyon helped the women's swimming & diving team to seven victories which is most in program history. He also assisted the men's team to another strong season that concluded with a second place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships, during the season the team amassed nine wins including five in conference meets. Both teams had improved finishes at the Metropolitan Swimming Championships as the men's team finished 11th and the women's squad took home 14th place.

A captain with the Privateers during his senior season of 2015-16, Lyon was a breaststroke specialist and also competed in the 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle during his tenure with the Privateers. Lyon spent his freshman season at Suffolk Community College and competed with the Sharks prior to the program being disbanded.

The Sachem North High School-product plans to graduate from Maritime with a degree in Marine Transportation.
