Chris Holmes 2012 ICS

Chris Holmes

Chris Holmes is in his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Maritime ice hockey team in 2013-14 and has witnessed the steady development of the program into its regional competitiveness and its contention for national success.

For the past several seasons, Chris has contributed to the program on a part-time basis, assisting with practices, while running the defensive unit, logistics and the academic success of the team’s student-athletes.

The steady rise of the team GPA and CGPA is a particular point of pride for Holmes, as is the growing number of members recognized as Academic All-Americans and on the Dean’s and Admiral’s Lists.

In addition to his coaching duties, Chris is an Assistant Professor of Humanities, and is the current Director of International Programs at Maritime.

Holmes was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He studied and played recreational hockey at Dalhousie University, the University of Toronto, and McGill University.

He currently lives with his wife and daughter on Long Island.
