At Maritime:
2012: During the 2012 year, Sal posted a 5.09 ERA during 23 innings, allowing 30 hits and giving up 16 runs; 13 were earned, while striking out 17.
Sal is studying Marine Transportation.

Prior to Maritime:
Sal is a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School and played baseball there in 2009.

Personal:
Sal’s parents are Kara and Mario Castagnaro. He has two brothers, Michael, who is 18, attends St. Dominic's High School and plays varsity baseball. He also has a brother named Devin, who is 12, attends Howitt Middle school and plays baseball as well. The person he most admires is his Nana and his favorite athlete is Kerry Wood. Sal’s career aspirations are to get a good job and to make a lot of money.
