Jason Yip

Jason Yip begins his second year on the Maritime baseball coaching staff in 2016.

In his first season on the staff, Yip helped guide the Privateers to a 12-win season which included seven victories in league play. With its seven wins, Maritime clinched its best regular season finish in fourth place, to earn a berth in the Skyline Conference Tournament. After a season which saw several key records fall, senior Matthew Sollin and freshmen Chris Deddo and Tyler Stuart earned All-Conference First Team Honors. Sollin went on to pick up D3baseball.com All-New York Region Third Team Accolades.

With nearly 10 years of baseball coaching experience, Yip will contribute in the day-to-day operations of the baseball program and will also add to the hitting, pitching, and defensive play of the Maritime players.

Currently serving in a role with the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as the Championships and Intramurals assistant, he is responsible for coordinating and managing championship and special events. In addition, he has also contributed in numerous aspects of the CUNYAC and has done so since 2013.

In addition to his role with the CUNYAC, Yip has served as a coach and instructor at the Storm Baseball Academy in West Hempstead, New York since 2006. While there he supervises and instructs athletes on the necessary skills needed to take the next step in their baseball careers.

While in college, he was a member of the Cortland Red Dragon Club Baseball team.

A 2012 graduate of Cortland, he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Studies. He also minored in Sports Management.

Yip currently resides in Nassau County, New York.
