Hall of Fame Requirements and Criteria

Maritime Athletics Hall of Fame
 

Established in 1975, the Maritime Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes Maritime alumni who excelled as athletes at the College and who have since distinguished themselves in their professions and within their communities. Honorary members are also recognized for their long and significant contributions to Maritime Athletics.

Nominations for the induction Class of 2025 must be submitted no later than August 1.

Hall of Fame Membership Criteria:
Established in 1975, the Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who:

  1. graduated from Maritime College no less than 5 years prior to the induction year;
  2. competed as varsity athletes at Maritime, or, if alumni who attended Maritime before the advent of intercollegiate sports, were active within sports-related organizations at the College;
  3. distinguished themselves as student-athletes while at SUNY Maritime;
  4. have since distinguished themselves in their chosen professions; and
  5. have made positive contributions within their communities.
On occasion, honorary members may also be inducted to the Hall of Fame. These individuals, who may or may not be Maritime College alumni, will have:
  1. made significant contributions to Maritime College athletics; and
  2. will have done so over an extended period of time.
