2018: Appeared in eight games for Maritime during his freshman season with the team including six starts on the hill for the Privateers…posted a 4-1 overall record while accumulating a 5.67 earned run average…struck out 40 batters over 33 1/3 innings of work on the season…made his collegiate debut in relief and threw one inning in the season opener against John Jay (2/24)…made his first collegiate start and went six innings while striking out five on a season-high 103 pitches against Lebanon Valley (3/8)…tossed 4 1/3 hitless innings while striking out nine batters in the team’s second game against Baruch (3/18)…had four strikeouts over four innings in the team’s conference matchup with St. Joseph’s (LI) (3/25)…struck out a season-high 10 batters as he went six innings and earned his third win of the year over Staten Island (4/6)…went a season-high eight innings as he struck out nine batters to notch his fourth win of the year against St. Joseph’s (Bklyn) (4/14)…retired four batters against Farmingdale (4/21)…struck out a pair in his final outing of the year as he went 2 2/3 innings against Old Westbury (4/28).

High School: Graduated from Southold High School in Southold, New York in 2017…played baseball for the Settlers throughout high school…was a part of the Suffolk County Class C Championship teams as a sophomore, junior, and senior…was also a part of the Class C Southeast Regional Championship team in 2015…helped the team to 79 wins during his five-year stint on the team while also pitching to a 10-0 record as a senior…was an All-County honoree as both a junior and a senior…earned Class C Playoff Most Valuable Player Accolades in both 2016 and 2017…earned All-State Second Team honors as a senior following fourth team accolades as a junior…was also League MVP and was a team captain as a senior…also played soccer while in high school and was a part of the Class C Championship teams as both a junior and a senior…earned All-Conference honors as a senior…played club baseball for the Mattituck Junior Ospreys.
 
Personal: Son of Stacy and Jeff Clausen…hast three brothers; Robby, Kyle and Andrew…plans to earn his degree in Marine Transportation while at Maritime while earning his U.S. Coast Guard Deck License.
