2014-15 (at Luzerne CC): Attended Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania … participated in the sport of cross country while with the Trailblazers.
 
High School: Attended Damascus Christian Academy in Damascus, Pennsylvania and graduated in 2014 … played basketball while with the defenders … and was a part of the KCEA Championship team … also earned Team MVP and was a team captain for the cross country team as well.
 
Personal: Son of Kay and Bob Bates … has three siblings; Brain, Raynell, and Carley … plans to earn his degree in Mechanical Engineering while also earning his U.S. Coast Guard Engine License at Maritime.
