High School: Graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. in 2015 … was a member of the Warrior Rowing team from 2011-15 … was a part of the Men’s Junior 4+ New York State Championship team in 2014 … posted a high school career-best time of 6:34 in a 2K race during his senior year … earned the Will to Win Award in 2014 and also earned the Rookie of the Year Award as a freshman … was also a part of the Hudson River Rowing Association.
Personal: Son of Bridget and James Gekakis … has two siblings; Emily and Kayleigh … plans to graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering with a U.S. Coast Guard Engine License while at Maritime.
