Maritime Announces Fall 2026 Sailing Schedule

2026 Fall Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY –
The Maritime College sailing team has released its schedule for the Fall portion of the 2026-27 season.  The Privateers will take part in 22 total events across three disciplines.  Maritime's open dinghy squad is set for 13 competitions, while the offshore team will participate in five regattas.  There are also four women's-only meetings on the Fall schedule.

On the weekend of Sept. 12-13, the open and women's dinghy programs head to Merchant Marine, while a second open dinghy crew will be at Stony Brook University for the Northeast Series 1.  All three teams are then in action on Sept. 19-20, with the offshore crew beginning its season at the U.S. Naval Academy for the Shields Trophy.  The open and women's dinghy teams travel to Cornell, and Maritime will also take part in the Coho Memorial at the Webb Institute that weekend.

There is one home event on the Fall schedule—the annual Maritime Fall Open on Sept. 26-27.  That regatta is for open dinghy teams.  The Privateer women will compete in the Tiger Women's Open at Princeton, and the offshore squad will make the short trip to the American Yacht Club in Larchmont, NY.  Then on Oct. 3-4, the women's and offshore teams have the weekend off while the open dinghy sailors stay close to home for the Jesuit Invitational, hosted by Fordham.

Maritime is set for three different events on each of the next two weekends.  On Oct. 11-12, the open dinghy team sails at the Hewitt Trophy and Princeton Fall Open, while the offshore crew competes at the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta.  The following weekend, the offshore team concludes its regular season at the McMillan Cup.  The open dinghy squad, meanwhile, will return to Stony Brook for the SBU Fall Open and also head to Hobart for the David Lee Arnoff Trophy.  The Fall regular season then wraps up on Oct. 24-25 with a pair of dinghy competitions—the Luce Trophy and the KP Dinghy Invitational.

Pending qualification, the Privateers will end their Fall campaign on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 with the championship event in each discipline.  Both the War Memorial, the open dinghy championship, and the Kennedy Cup, which is the offshore National Championship, will take place at Navy.  The MAISA Fall Women's Regatta, meanwhile, will be at Cornell.
