Maritime’s 2026 Spring Schedule Revealed

2026 Spring Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY –
The Maritime College sailing team has released the Spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule.  The Privateers will host two regattas this Spring—the annual Admiral Moore Team Race on March 21-22 and the Long Island Sound Invitational on April 4-5.

Maritime is tentatively scheduled to resume competition on the weekend of Feb. 28-March 1 with the Tom Noble Team Race at Washington College in Maryland and the Seawolf Spring Open at Stony Brook.  However, the weather experienced this winter may result in those early-season events being postponed or cancelled, depending on the conditions at the venues.

After traveling to Virginia for a Spring Break training trip, the Privateers return to action on March 14-15, when the women's squad heads to St. Mary's Maryland.  Maritime then hosts the Admiral Moore Team Race the following weekend.  On March 28-29, all three teams will compete.  The women head to Kings Point for the MAISA Spring Women's Regatta, and the remainder of the dinghy squad will participate in the Vietor Trophy at Connecticut College.  The offshore team, meanwhile, will take part in the J70 Invitational at Coast Guard, which serves as the qualifying event for the J70 Championships in April.

On April 4-5, the Privateers have their second home regatta of the season—the Long Island Sound Invitational.  Maritime is then back on the road for a pair of dinghy competitions—The Grant Regatta at Old Dominion and the Oberg Open Fleet Race at Northeastern—on April 11-12.

Should they qualify, the Privateers will participate in a pair of championship events on April 18-19.  The America Trophy for the dinghy team is at St. Mary's Maryland, while the offshore squad's J70 Championships will be held at Coast Guard.  Maritime's dinghy sailors then conclude the season with the Admiral's Cup, hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, on April 25-26.

This year's National Championships are in Tampa, FL, from May 15-22.  The Privateers are looking to return to the Open Nationals after not qualifying in 2025.  The Maritime women are seeking their first Nationals berth since 2022.
