THROGGS NECK, NY – The Maritime College men's cross country team has participated in three meets this season.  Chase Miller (West Islip, NY) has been named both Skyline Conference Runner and Rookie of the Week after each.  His latest selection came on Monday, as he was honored for his school-record performance at the Queensborough Invitational.

Miller broke the five-year-old program mark by 17 seconds, completing the 8000-meter course at Van Cortlandt Park in 26:12.76.  He finished first overall in a field of 157, defeating the second-place finisher by more than two and a half minutes.  It was Miller's second consecutive race win after finishing third among non-Division I runners in his collegiate debut.  He previously took first at the Purchase College Invitational on Sept. 12.  With Miller leading the way, the Privateers were seventh in the team standings on Sunday.

Prior to this season, Maritime hadn't had a men's Skyline Runner of the Week since 2022 or a Rookie of the Week since 2023.  Miller has now won both in the same week three separate times (Sept. 8, Sept. 14, Oct. 5).

Up next for the Privateers is the St. Joseph's LI Invitational on Oct. 17.  It will be the team's final competition prior to the Skyline Conference Championships.
