THROGGS NECK, NY – Chase Miller (West Islip, NY) of the Maritime College men's cross country team won his third consecutive race on Saturday. For that victory, he was recognized as the Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season. Miller has received the award after each of the Privateers' four competitive weekends in 2026.
On Saturday, he led Maritime to fourth place overall and first among Division III programs at the St. Joseph's LI Invitational from Sunken Meadow State Park. Miller completed the 8000-meter course in 26:52.90, which was nearly a minute faster than the second-place finisher. His time was the fifth-fastest in the 25-year history of the event.
Miller will enter the Skyline Championships on a three-meet winning streak. He previously earned victories at the Queensborough Invitational on Oct. 4 and Purchase College Invitational on Sept. 12. At the season-opening Adelphi Invitational on Sept. 4, Miller was the top non-Division I runner with a 23
rd-place finish. He was named both Skyline Runner and Rookie of the Week for all three of those performances.
The Skyline Championships are set for Sunday at the Stony Brook University Cross Country Course. The first race gets underway at 11 a.m.
