THROGGS NECK, NY – Five Maritime College student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Skyline Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team for "upholding the conference's commitment to sportsmanship and fair play." The Privateers selected were
Emily Bryant (women's cross country),
Eric Schmidt (men's cross country),
Sara Williams (women's soccer),
Jake Rodriguez (men's soccer) and
Joan Anastasiades (volleyball).
"Sportsmanship is a cornerstone of the Skyline Conference and of the student-athlete experience," Skyline Commissioner
Melissa Reilly said. "These honorees represent the very best of our conference, demonstrating respect, integrity, and leadership in competition and in their daily lives. We are proud to recognize their commitment to these values."
Bryant was among Maritime's top finishers in every meet in which she competed, while Schmidt helped the men's squad to fifth-place showings at both the Skyline and ECAC Championships. Williams served as a team captain and distributed three assists while starting all 14 games. Rodriguez, a team captain, appeared in 11 games before suffering a season-ending injury and scored a goal against Mount St. Vincent on Sept. 20. Anastasiades became the Privateers' starting libero late in the season and ranked second on the team in digs.
One player from each Skyline-member program is nominated by their head coach for the All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team consists of each school's individual selections in every Skyline-sponsored Fall sport.
