THROGGS NECK, NY – Maritime College ranked fifth in the Skyline Conference's season-long Presidents Cup, which recognizes all-sports success among the 12 member institutions, during the 2022-23 school year.  The Privateers didn't win any conference titles in 2022-23, but six of the 11 Maritime teams that compete in the Skyline finished second in their respective sport, while two others placed among the top five.

The baseball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse squads all earned second place outright, while the men's and women's cross country and men's swimming & diving teams each tied for second at the Skyline Championships.  The men's basketball team reached the Skyline semifinals (where it lost to the eventual Skyline champions) after placing fourth in the regular season, and Maritime was fifth in women's swimming & diving.

Points are awarded based on a school's finish in every Skyline sport it sponsors, with the points available varying by sport and the number of teams that participate.  Each institution's total points earned are divided by the number of points available to the school.  That percentage determines the final Presidents Cup standings.  The Privateers finished with 69 of a possible 111 points, a percentage of .622.

All four schools that finished ahead of Maritime in the final rankings won multiple Skyline championships in 2022-23.  Merchant Marine captured its second straight Presidents Cup with a percentage of .849, followed by Farmingdale (.780) in second, Manhattanville (.724) in third and fourth-place St. Joseph's LI (.648).
