Privateers Wrap Up 2023 Campaign

FARMINGDALE, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team wrapped up its 2023 season with a visit to Farmingdale on Tuesday night.  Farmingdale's three first half goals proved to be enough, as the Rams (8-8-2, 7-2-1 Skyline) earned a 3-0 victory over the Privateers (6-8-1, 3-7-1 Skyline) at Rams Field.

Alyse Rivera put Farmingdale on the board with an unassisted tally in the 11th minute.  The Rams increased their lead to 2-0 just three minutes later, when Celina Schenk scored off assists from Rivera and Mikayla Spiering.  In the 37th minute, Rivera set up a goal by Gracie Heilbrun that put Farmingdale in front 3-0.

Despite outshooting the Privateers 27-3, the Rams were unable to sneak another one past Maritime goalkeeper Devon Etienne (Garden City, NY).  Etienne (6-8-1) was credited with a career-high 14 saves in the game, her fourth double-digit effort of the season.  Hailey Stork (2-0-0) made two saves for Farmingdale.

Maritime's three conference wins this season tied the program record set in 2021.  The Privateers also had a tie against Manhattanville, giving them 10 points in the final standings, their most ever.
