Women's Soccer Season Comes To A Close Following 8-0 Defeat Against St. Joesph's (LI)

The Maritime women's soccer 2018 season came to an end tonight as the Privateers dropped an 8-0 contest to the St. Joseph's (LI) Golden Eagles. With the loss, the Privateers conclude the 2018 campaign with a record of 2-11-1 and 1-7-1 in Skyline Conference games.

The close of the season also marks the end of a historic career for Privateers goalie Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough). In her final game as the Privateers goalie, Havens totaled 11 saves which adds to her Maritime all-time record of 632 saves. Entering tonight's game, Havens was second among Skyline Conference goalies this season in saves. Against the Golden Eagles, Havens continued her in-goal excellence that Privateers fans have grown to expect from her over her historic career. Havens performance was highlighted by a diving save in the 11th minute to prevent a 2-0 Golden Eagles lead. Havens also had a near 25 minute stretch between the Golden Eagles first two goals in which she had three consecutive saves.

Along with her stance as the all-time saves leaders, Havens is also the program leader in wins in goalie wins, goalie minutes and save percentage.

The Privateers offensive performance was spearheaded by a 1 minute span which included two shot attempts. The Privateers attempts came from familiar contributors from all season long in sophomore Mackenzie Fabiani and freshman Brianna Etienne.

To cap off her solid rookie season, Etienne finishes with a team-high six goals and 24 shots. Fabiani comes in tied for second among Privateers goal scorers with two goals. She is joined by junior Kayla Kelly (South Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville). Leading the Privateers in assists on the season is Leigh Kouril (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown). The junior ended the season with four assists.

With a lot of returners for the 2019 season, the Privateers will look to make a push towards the Skylien Conference playoffs.
