Box Score BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The Maritime women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 after a late goal from Mass. Maritime in the 88th minute at Clean Harbors Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper
Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) came up big in net with nine saves, with six saves coming in the first half.
The Privateers, now 1-3 on the season, racked up seven total shots, five on goal, and also added one corner but were unable to find the back of the net.
Sophomore forward
Gayle Woods (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) put in another strong performance with two shots on goal. Junior
Kathleen Burns (Islip, N.Y./Islip) was a spark plug off the bench with two shots, one on goal.
The Buccaneers' goal came from freshman Madison Taylor with 2:07 remaining in the match.
Freshmen
Courtney Salatto (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and
Krista Deleva (Sound Beach, N.Y./Miller Place) also registered shots in the match.
Maritime's next match is tomorrow, September 13, against Morrisville State on Reinhart Field at 3 p.m.
